Prima Meat Packers Group Health and Safety Declaration
We regard employees and their family members as an asset that we must always protect. To that end, we work to provide a safe workplace in which the work employees do is always healthy and safe. Alongside this, we take steps to protect the mental and physical health of employees and their family members and to prevent harmful effects on health from mental health issues and overwork.
We also want to create a workplace in which employees feel safe, confident, and engaged.
Organizational framework

Policies for Employee Health and Productivity
Creating a safe workplace
We comply with legal and regulatory requirements related to health and safety in the workplace, but we also take a proactive approach in which we develop health and safety action plans for each workplace.
Safety patrols and guidance
External consultants in occupational health and safety visit our workplaces to inspect their health and safety standards and advise on how to improve the standards.
Improving health and safety awareness
To improve health and safety awareness, we use an instructional video for visually ascertaining work processes and safety checkpoints.
Health and safety training programs
We run a number of training programs to enable staff across Prima Meat Packers Group to obtain their mandated qualifications and to improve health and safety awareness. The programs include a program for newly appointed safety managers, a foreperson training program, and a risk assessment program
Prima Meat Packers Health and Safety Week
We have made the first seven days of December (a busy period) Prima Meat Packers Health and Safety Week. We use Health and Safety Week to reaffirm workplace rules on health and safety, rearrange working environments, and take other steps to prevent occupational accidents.
Supporting employee well-being in body and mind
The Prima Meat Packers Health Insurance Union works with Prima Management Service Co., Ltd., to support mental and physical well-being among employees and their family members.
Resources for mental wellness: Hotlines, mental-health consultation service
We have organizationally embedded a culture of supporting employees’ mental wellness. Our range of mental health resources includes an internal consultation service and hotlines to external mental health services.
Anti-harassment training
We run an annual anti-harassment program for employees across Prima Meat Packers Group. The program is designed to raise awareness of and to eliminate (or prevent) harassment and bullying in the workplace.
Deployment of qualified industrial counselors to business sites
We encourage employees to take an exam to qualify as an industrial counselor. Those who pass the exam are deployed to business sites across Japan, where they work to prevent stress-related health problems or to identify and treat them as soon as possible.
Collaborating with the Prima Meat Packers Health Insurance Union
We collaborate with the Prima Meat Packers Health Insurance Union to prevent lifestyle-related diseases. Specifically, we encourage employees to undergo screening tests for lifestyle-related diseases and, in the case that a lifestyle-related disease is identified, to comply with the doctor’s advice. Our collaboration also includes abdominal ultrasound as part of a program to encourage employees to get screened for possible cancer.
