Participation in the 91st cleanup campaign "Kasumigaura and Kitaura Areas Cleanup Large Operation" (Ibaraki Plant)

On Sunday, March 3, 2019, Prima Meat Packers' Ibaraki Plant (Tsuchiura-shi, Ibaraki Pref.) and other business sites jointly participated in the "Kasumigaura and Kitaura Areas Cleanup Large Operation" sponsored by the Ibaraki Prefectural Office and Tsuchiura City Office.
This cleanup large operation was proposed by the Kasumigaura Problem Council, which consists of 21 municipalities in the Kasumigaura and Kitaura basins, and is held simultaneously in spring (March) and summer (July) every year. This is the 91st time.

Purified wastewater from the Ibaraki Plant is discharged into the Hanamurogawa River in the Kasumigaura basin, however, with the idea of working to clean up not only the wastewater, but also the riverside, we started to join the cleanup activities and this is the 25th time we have participated.

Rain was forecast for the day, but fortunately it did not fall until after the end of the cleanup, and as many as 100 employees gathered for the event and participated in the cleanup activities around the plant.

With the start of operations of the new plant next year, it is assumed that there will be a high level of involvement with local residents, including the construction of new roads and an increase in the volume of wastewater.
We will continue to proactively take these initiatives, aiming to become a plant that is integrated into the local community.
